PARTNERSHIP
Malérargues Endowment Fund
and
the Centre Artistique International Roy Hart
Since 1974 the Château de Malérargues, home to the Roy Hart Theatre, has been a unique venue for exchange, teaching, training, and creation.
The ownership of Malérargues is currently organised under the structure of a real estate holding company (in French SCI) with 33 shareholders, as it was when first acquired by the Roy Hart Theatre nearly 50 years ago. The Roy Hart Theatre Association, later to become the Centre Artistique International Roy Hart (CAIRH or Roy Hart Centre), continues to operate as a non-profit educational, cultural, and artistic association. It leases studios and student accommodation from the SCI.
The Malérargues Endowment Fund was created in 2021 by eleven men and women of diverse backgrounds and generations, to ensure the perennity of the château and grounds of Malérargues and pass on the cultural and artistic legacy of Alfred Wolfsohn, Roy Hart, and the Roy Hart Theatre. To guarantee this continuity, its aim is to acquire all the shares of the SCI, thereby assuming full ownership of the estate in trust.
The privileged partnership between the Malérargues Endowment Fund and the Roy Hart Centre (and other associations linked with the Wolfsohn-Hart work in Malérargues) is a symbiotic one, whereby the Malérargues Endowment Fund will channel funds to support their projects.
